Another benefit of getting the official US version of this game is that it already includes the shading patch for improved graphics. Also, with black-market software there’s always the risk that it may contain some kind of spyware, malware, etc. It’s my understanding that some licensed software won’t even run if it detects Daemon Tools on you r computer. One of the main purposes of this type of software is to get around copyright protections.
Not only is it illegal, but it requires the installation of Daemon Tools software to run. I’ve learned from experience to stay away from “import” software on eBay, because it’s really just black-market/bootleg software (usually Russian). You can buy it new from Walmart now for $20 and a used one on eBay w/shipping will cost about half that.
That being said, if you do buy the PC version.do yourself a favor and buy an official US version. The only reason to ever buy the PC version of RE4 is if you don’t own a PS2 game system, because the PC version is a direct translation of the PS2 version of the game.
